Kin Khao Thai wins third place at the Food & Wine Awards
It was abit of a sweaty, heart stopping affair last Sunday evening at the Mansion House in Dublin. The great and the good of the restaurant world were gathered for the announcements of the acclaimed Veuve Clicquot Annual Food & Wine Best Restaurant Awards.
The wait was actually too much for me as I succumbed to the effervescent trays of bubbly that just appeared before my eyes!! Kin Khao Thai was up against some pretty fierce competition in its category of Best Ethnic Restaurant.
China Sichuan in Dublin was the overall winner and fair play to them. They have been in business for 23 years and their cuisine, like that of Kin Khao Thai is the real deal. Coming second was the Hop House Korean also in Dublin. They have been wowing Dublin with their Korean sushi and saki and being a relative newcomer like ourselves we applaud them.
And in third place came….Kin Khao Thai. The judges comment on Kin Khao Thai said it all, “this isn’t just a great stopping off point…..but is a destination in itself”.
Thanks to all of our wonderful loyal customers for supporting us and nominating us for this prestigious award. Our reason for establishing Kin Khao Thai was to serve REAL Thai food and this win tells us that you our customers are happy with what you see and eat. Thanks to you all and look out next year boys!! Be afraid, be very afraid.

Congratulations on coming third place well done. I have been to your restaurant anytime we are around Athlone. My friend is going to Athlone at the weekend and I told her she must go. Hence the reason I am now on your website. So well done, keep up the good work and I look forward to eating again in your place soon.
